The Final Slapshot

Email to me from a reader: “I read Final Slapshot in the Hockey Holidays book and really loved it. I wanted to thank you for writing it.”  CJC

“I am reviewing The Final Slapshot, by Jean C. Joachim. I really enjoyed the different sides to Kitty and Deke’s relationship in this story. He’s hiding a career-ending secret, which she actually knows about and is struggling with how to make them a same-city couple once again. Thinking that a divorce is the best option for his beautiful wife, so she won’t have to be saddled with him, Deke puts the plans into motion without discussing it first. The blow-up leads to some really pure, honest moments with this couple, and Deke eventually comes to realize that there is more to hockey than being on the ice itself.”

Review – Kelly:

“This story about what happens to a hockey player at the end of his career really pulled on my heartstrings. I loved how authentic Harry and Kitty felt as they loved and fought and struggled to figure out how their lives worked—and if their lives worked together—in a world where Harry was no longer a star hockey player. Another new to me author and another author I’ll be looking for more from. 5+ stars”
