Sly “Bullhorn” Brodsky, Offensive Line

Jean Joachim does it again with book five of the First & Ten series. Where she keeps coming up with these ideas, I have no idea. All I can say, is “Keep ’em coming! I want more!”

Even though this is book 5 of the series, this book can be read as a stand alone. Do I think you should only read this one? Heck no!!! Let your fingers do the walking and buy all five right now….

So….. Sly “Bull” is a fantastic football player. He’s had a rough go of things: tough childhood where things were tight, being used by women who just want his money, and the biggie, his ex fiance walked out on him on his wedding day. Let’s just say he is a lil gun shy now. But that all changes when he meets Samantha Drake. Not only is she hot, sexy and everything he ever wanted in a girlfriend/lover/wife, she is also Devon Drakes lil sister. Things are not easy for Sly and Sam, they have to sneak around to be together to start but the real sparks fly when Sly’s ex fiance comes back to town begging for Sly’s help and a few other things. Sam has to decide if she can trust Sly to chose her.

This story takes you on their roller coaster ride journey to a happily ever after. This was written as a multi pov. And I don’t just mean, Sly and Sam. We have just about everyone from the previous books pov’s as well, which was actually a good thing. It had been a while since I read about Buddy, Devon, Coach, etc. that it was nice to see what was happening with them in their lives as well. They did not take over the story as you may think, but actually added to it. Esp. when they all ended up together at a few different gatherings.Read more ›

I was really excited to see that Bullhorn got his story. His relationship with Sam was quite and exciting tale. Just as all the other players met their match, so has Bullhorn. Now it would have been easier if she had been someone no one knew ,but of course he has to make things hard and fall for one of his teammates sisters. Locker room chatter, bragging and conquest tales do not earn him the approval of his woman’s brother but maybe his actions will. Sam is no fool, she has heard the talk about Bullhorn, heck her brother even warned her away from him. However, she is not about to let that get in the way of getting to know the guy who seems to have intercepted her heart. Even though Sly is a big guy, he has a big heart. He was gentle, romantic and treated Sam like a lady. It was nice to see that he had a soft side and knew how to show it. Great characters, awesome storyline complete with drama and the people you just love to hate. I love how in each new tale we revisit the other characters and catch up on their lives. The crossover makes the storyline so much more real to me and pulls you deeper into the worlds Ms. Joachim creates. I look forward to seeing who falls into the writing web next. 🙂

Oh well we’re do with start with Sly and Sam. They two have been flitting around each other and seeing each other behind her brother Devin’s back. Sam didn’t know whether to listen and be live all the rumors her brother told or to just learn everything about Bull on her own. Sam learns that he is a standup man but will she be able to hold on to him when the past meets the present? Will these two finally get their Happily ever after or will they not?
