Critique: Set in the Colonial America of 1786, and co-authored by the writing team of Jean Joachim and Michael Magness, “Abigail’s Journey” is a genuinely original, deftly crafted, impressively authentic, and exceptionally entertaining historical romance. What people are saying about “Abigail’s Journey”:

Avid Reader5.0 out of 5 stars A sweet glimpse into Colonial life.Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2020Verified PurchaseI thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s well-written and takes the reader back to a time when life was a physical as well as mental struggle to survive. Abigail is a strong woman, as pioneering women had to be. Faced with an unbearable loss she keeps her head high and does what she has to do to care for herself and her children. In a time when a marriage built on love was a luxury Abigail is fortunate to find Caleb though the angst of giving her heart a second time rings true for the time period.
This is a great read for sweet romance lovers and for fans of American historicals.

Belinda5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful new seriesReviewed in the United States on December 4, 2020I’m not usually a historical romance reader, however, I love Jean Joachim’s work so I decided to give it a chance. This story had me go through my feelings. Abigail went through a tragedy and had to find her strength to move on and provide for her family. Magness and Joachim gave us well-developed characters with solid backgrounds and believable situations. This is the first in a new series and I look forward to seeing how the family and Abigail continue on their journey. I received this as an ARC and voluntarily give my review.

Pug Mom5.0 out of 5 stars FabulousReviewed in the United States on December 2, 2020I haven’t read historical romance since my teenage years. I LOVED this book. The characters were well developed and likable. I gasped, cried and held my breath at different scenes. Did I mention that I loved this book? I can’t wait to read more in this series. So well done!
